Photographer's Note
Barbil, the singer at the entrance of the great Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan shares a moment with a boy who was enjoying his folk songs like i was.
His forefathers were the in-house musicians of the King. A skill and an art form passed down over centuries, he makes a part of living singing folk songs accompanied with the Tabla..

The sound of his voice reverberating within the cold stone walls of the fort/palace still gives me goosebumps.

kodak tmax 100 simulation - in the workshop, is my personal choice but one in colour has more story to it.

I see where you are coming from with this photo - have you seen the movie E.T.? That may not be a fair comparison, but a comparison no less, and an interaction more than anything. I have looked at the workshop version, I like the BW but the contrast is too much for me. Pretty sure my monitor is reproducing ok, if not, and your pic is lighter than what I see, I think I would like it more :)
In any event, this is a tender moment. I like it but I have to give it a half smile.
Have a splendid weekend my friend,

Hi S,
A scene well captured at the good moment, perfect sharpness for the singer and interesting effect with this warm color, tfs.

Hello Sayeed,
Your picture is taken in very difficult conditions but the silhouettes make your picture attractive.
You picture is very well photographed.
Colours and presentation are pleasant to look at.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Howdy Sayeed
The hand gesture, fingertips touching, makes a pivot for the textures and shapes to turn on. And I love the deep red of the singer's headwear.

Hello Sayeed
I like the chiaroscuro effect here. And I think you've done more than just simulate Kodak TMax here: presumably you've suppressed all colours apart from red. The near-silhouettes work really well. I just wish we could hear the singer as well.

Will

Ah, the inspiring blend of sight and sound! it must be a sensory treat to experience such a thing. Lovely moment of interaction and appreciation. From playing for kings to playing for passersby. Sad in a way how things have changed, but then serfdom wasn't that good either. Salam. Klaudio.
