Photographer's Note

At Thangshing and in view of Mt Pandim (6691m) to the right we had only a few kilometers walk to our camp below Samiti Lake on our way to Goecha-La (4940m). We started early for GoechaLa pass (4940m) at 3am. Some of us made it all the way but most of us returned to the camp below Samiti Lake (4200m) in the morning after having a spectacular view of Mt Kanchenjunga (8586m). Being the third highest mountain on earth, it was unknown to me before I started to prepare for this trek in year 2004. The peak is on the border between Nepal and Sikkim (India) and hence very close to Tibet.

If you ever get a chance to visit- take it - you won't regret it.
