Bathing in Sacred Waters, a photo from Uttar Pradesh, North

Photographer's Note

People doing there daily things around the Ganghes river in Varanasi. The waters of t river are considered sacred. Studies done on the ater confirm that the water is several times too toxic to be suitable for human use.

Does anyone think this would look good in BW?

Es una foto que enseguida me ha despertado el interes. Muy interesante, aunque puede ser que una foto mas cercana de la gente hubiera sido aun mas interesante. Pero de todos modos me gusta mucho!! Podria servir como una foto para un estudio.

Hola Daniel, siempre quise ir a India y especialmente a Varanasi, se ve muy interesante. Creo que el blanco y negro como dices podria arreglar un poco el problema de la luz que esta demasiado fuerte. Saludos, Tali

Good shot - the colours & light are pretty good & I also like how you've gotten some of the buildings in the background into the frame, as well as some other details that maybe help to explain just why the water is so toxic! A good daily life image from this part of the world.

I am biased towards colour so my view is not going to be objective. I think there is so much colour in this image it would be a shame to lose it. It also has colour in its other meaning- vitality.

B/w? I think it could look great in b/w but you would lose the beautiful colors which make it for me here. You should try it though.

the funny thing of that beautiful image is the 4th man from the left, close to the water. the white hair and the attitude seems a Olimypic Final preparation of 100 meters!

Great shot of Varanasi Ghaat. The color version is OK here. It gives your main subject the River Ganga a natural feeling.

Trиs belle vue de cette ville sacrйe. J'aime bien le style de ta photo avec beaucoup de contrastes et une belle accentuation. Je trouve que cela rend les photos numйriques bien plus vivantes. Cela peut effectivement donner un bon noir et blanc. A bientфt

Nice shot this is...a subject taken by lot of photographers....but I like the color tone and contrast in this picture. Also I have seen this "Ghats" taken from the front however like this side view better than that.
