But I would also like to share this one as I like the colours - here is a cattle egret posting on the turquoise background of Taj Mahal fountain.

I dedicate this upload to Paul because of his encounter with vultures instead of egrets during his visit to Agra.

Hi Kasia,not a difficult species to take and very common everywhere, but the quality of pic is perfect, the white of plumage is very well exposed and the sharpness is excellent too,and as you wrote the blue in background is lovely. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

A very nice and elegant portrait of this small bird standing on one foot at the edge of the water, which is a fine backdrop for the white feathers and yellow beak. Well done.

Yes, despite the fact that the events took place in 1995, I still remember the encounter with vultures on the banks of the Yamuna, close to the Taj Mahal :)
Convinced that vultures were scavengers and would therefore not react to a living creature, I kept walking towards the Taj and these birds of prey that sat on the shore in great numbers.
But they were not at all pleased with my presence and made it clear with wild movements of their wings and by coming towards me. So I played it safe and retraced my steps. I felt a little shy; a grown man who shrinks from an animal that actually only eats dead bodies :)
And now this story is even on TE. There goes my reputation (if I had any).
If only I had seen there such a beautiful egret!
What a nice and sharp close up.
Its white feathers look like the softest down.
The yellow beak contrasts nicely with the blue water. Is that the Yamuna in the background? It colours as beautifully as the water of a swimming pool. In my memory, that river used to have a dirty colour (maybe because of the rainy season).
Thanks for the dedication! This photo will give me a good memory of the Yamuna.

Great close up image almost full framed of a very handsome guy. That piercing sharp eye is so sharp, he certainly does look like he's posing for the camera. What a display of white plumage which is not easy to expose and its contrast against soft turquoise bg is bang on here. I personally find difficult to fault simply a fine capture of a super bird.

Hi Kasia,
This egret is not in sunshine and that makes those white feathers much more lively, pretty far from overexposure. Good timing with one leg up. Excellent framing. And colour of water is indeed lovely.

A nice catch of this white egret or heron. I am not an expert on bird species. Perfect fg sharpness with nicely out of focus cyan water in the bg. Tfs!

Witaj, Nie pamiętam ani sępуw, ani czapli w Agrze. Kolor wody rzeczywiście wspaniały. Czaple nie są bardzo płochliwe, więc nawet i mnie czasem udaje się zrobić im zdjęcie. Świetna ostrość.

Ptaszek wyglada jakby przestepowal z nogi na noge.
Na pewno o wiele bardziej sympatycznie sie prezentuje niz sep.

This egret looks serious as he poses for you, and I really like the color of the water in the background.
