Hello my friends,

I captured this famous lake at the first week of July, 2012. Long, narrow, enchanted lake, meaning of Pangon Tso (Tso means lake) in Tibetan form. The lake is 134 km long and extends from India to Tibet. Approximately 60% of the length of the lake lies in Tibet. Pangong Tso can be reached in a five-hour drive from Leh, most of it on a rough and dramatic mountain road. The spectacular lakeside is open during the tourist season from May to September.

This is my second post of Pangon Lake to TE and position of view is different from my previous post.

Unbelievable that it has a 134km length, Swapan, and as you say - the rough barren terrain is shown on the other side across the water.
Yet it looks marvelous from low-POV taken this shot, a mild HDR I suppose, rendered the beautiful colors.

I really recommand Pangong tso, it's a remoted place but the visitor will be necessarily rewarded Swapan, this is a high altitude saltwater lake in a mineral desert

Hello Swapan,

Fantastic photo from North India. The landscape reminds me Tibet. Amazoig view of clouds. Wonderful lake taken from low POV. Fascinating place to see but probably unfriendly to live there.

Hello Swapan,

Looks to be well above the treeline and even grass is struggling to get a toehold here in the barren lunar landscape. Good sharpness and nice repetition of the waves. The reddish brown color of the eroded hills contrasts well with the blue sky to give a nice warm cold color contrast. The elevation is apparent from the rich blue colour of the sky. I know for a fact that skies appear much bluer above 2000 metres than at sea level. Tfs!

Beautiful lake very high in the mountains above Leh. Water crystal clear, not too much vegetation on mountains and fantastic sky.
Good quality photo as well colors, light and sharpness.
