Photographer's Note
I had gone to mountain desert city of Leh in Himachal Pradesh during the Ladakh Festival held every year in around September. All the local men and women, whether young or old, were dressed at their very best...I caught this beautiful old lady at the Chokhang Vihara - a monastery within the city of Leh...I bought her a cup of tea and she immediately obliged when I asked her for a picture...
Leh is cut off from the rest of the world for over 6 months in a year due to extreme cold...so they do not lose any opportunity to put a smile on their face or a flower on their head...

A warm portrait from a cold place! Her gaze upwards is interesting, but I wonder if it wouldn't have been better if she'd looked straight at you/us. The smile is brilliant, though.
Cheers.

namaskar AMITABHA
Yes nice portrait of this woman probably from the village where they have been wearing flowers in their hairs, long before the fashion of the beat generation in America in the late 60s !!
I like her natural posture and attitude and the mild light on her face
have a nice evening
Best regards
Patrick

Its a very nice portrait. Perfect in its style. You have managed to present the grace of her very beautifully even at this age. The colors and tones are very nice. Beautiful vertical presentation.
