Photographer's Note
Malgo made a comment to me that she's surprised I didn't reach 100 posted photos from India yet...well...lets get 1 closer. This will be #88.
It was very early in the morning, and we stopped off to grab breakfast and Chai Tea. I took the opportunity to grab a few shots of these awesome trucks that we often see all over India and foreign countries. We don't have trucks like this in Vancouver :)
About the mosquitos...oh MAN, that was terrible. We spent the night in a 'hotel' (if you can call it that), it was basically an OPEN AIR room. Oh but don't worry the man said, we'll give you a mosquito net and you'll be fine.
In the morning, my girlfriend and I were COVERED in mosquito bites, it was Terrible, absolutely Terrible. Please trust me in that i'm not exaggerating, it was the worst case of insect bites I've ever seen in my life. My girlfriend had it worse than me, and it she most likely had hundreds and hundreds of bites, even all over her FACE. We were actually quite concerned and worried. Her face was swollen, and it took weeks for the red bite markes to fade away. We were back in Canada after the trip and her skin was still full of red bites.
I will never stay in an open air room again, live and learn i guess.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this little shot

Hi Craig,
The fog is giving a relax mood to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the trucks. The fog is giving nice tints to the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig,
Not a typical postcard, an excellent one, however. I like the misty atmosphere as well and the typical overloaded Indian trucks. The note is interesting as well!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Craig,
There are many precautions that are absolutely necessary for you to enjoy your holidays in far-off lands. But, as you say, you learned a very importantly lesson! Thank goodness, you didn’t get some very serious illness.
I always think that mist adds a sense of mystery to a scene.
In movies, they add it to create tension.
You could imagine these huge wagons, in a movie, taking advantage of the mist to cross borders.
Of course, these were quite innocent vehicles but, the mist still seems to make them seem more sinister. The main vehicle sharp, in the f/g, creates quite a sense of depth to its partner, across the misty road.
Will you continue to reach the 100.
Have a good w/e,
Bev 😊

Hello Craig,
I'm pretty sure you showed us photos of this place before. I "liked" it then and I like it now. Maybe because I recognize so well the atmosphere of a very hazy and possibly a bit cold morning in northern India in the winter. It's a time and place where traveling may not at that moment feel like great fun. But it will be better as soon as the sun breaks through. Unfortunately I also well recognize those horrible nights shared with mosquitos, even though I have never been bitten as terribly as you and your girlfriend. It could be dangerous.
Cheers!

Nice view in the morning, interesting text ...
Nice place with trucks on a foggy day. Trucks with goods are waiting for their customers.
Nicely shown, well captured moment.

Hello Craig,
I had some mosquito bites this week, but not as bad as you describe in your note! Very well composed photo, the two large trucks are nicely placed on either side of the composition and they stand out nicely from the dense fog. Nice details on the front of them, too.

Hi Craig,
Your photograph is amazing - but your note is even more entertaining! Mosquitoes are horrid little beasts. I know that malaria is common in Sub-Saharan Africa but is it present in northern India too? And did you take anti-malarial drugs on this trip?
Anyway, a fabulous photograph of these heavily laden trucks parked up at the roadside while a group of men, possibly truck drivers, stand having a discussion. The fog gives a wonderful atmosphere to the image and I can imagine that it wasn't just mist but was probably contaminated with dust and smoke and maybe other things too. Hopefully that mist would "burn off" soon as the sun gained strength in the day.
Lovely soft light and colours, perfect exposure and a fine composition with excellent detail and sharpness.
Wonderful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Craig,
Fog I can see, but not the Mosquitos...
The old trucks fully loaded and their drivers chat on the road-side. How typical daily life moment captured, cheers for that one.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Hello Craig, When it is 88th picture from India, we will have to wait quite a time for the 100th hahaha.
Marvellous view of these trucks in the morning haze. Very beautiful picture. I also liked such trucks, sometimes there were more colourful, sometimes there were people on top.
An interesting note about the mosquitos. Usually, I travel in the dry season and more mosquitos I see in my garden than in the tropical jungle. I suffered from mosquitos in Corfu island. There were a lot of flies in Australia, quite incredible, they were hundreds of them on every part of the body, it was a nuisance but no bites.
Take care

Hi Craig
Can't see any mosquitoes - just a great atmospheric photo from India. As long as I'm with my wife the mosquitoes don't bite me - they just go for her!
cheers

Craig, this is a common scene in India. The truck drivers parked their vehicles on the road side and they are discussing. It was the winter season and i can see the morning fog. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Craig, early morning mist and the drivers have a break before driving who knows where?
No, we don't see trucks like this in the U.K. either, so it is always interesting to see how other countries work.
Your holiday was obviously marred by the experience with the biting insects, nasty!
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

I'm guessing that the humidity was 100 percent, and that's already reason to feel uncomfortable, and the mosquitos were an additional nuisance. But the photo is very nice, with a special atmosphere

Hello Mac
When I lived in Japan, most of the trucks were cabovers such as these. A lot easier to maneuver in tight spaces. Must have been pretty nasty with the bites. are you sure they were mosquitos? interesting image.

Hi Craig
I know, I know, mosquitoes (quite a story and I know the feeling) and that but you really made me miss Asia with this shot. The morning mist and the colours are soooo Asia here. As are the vehicles and the couple of people we can see.
Looking forward to the next 12 shots from India. ;-)
Best wishes

Hi Craig,
Muito atrativa esta foto com esta neblina da manhã e estes caminhoes antigos e decorados. Lamento pela sua pessima experiencia com os mosquitos e espero que voce não passe por isso novamente. Linda foto. Gostei desta atmosfera da manhã.

Hello Craig,
I think in the month of February it can still be quite cold in Delhi.
Fortunately, this region of India no longer has malaria mosquitoes. That would be much worse.
I remember a night bus ride in Northern India while traveling in the 90's.
In the middle of the night, the bus broke down on a road through a forest. Inside the vehicle it became very warm and the Indian passengers opened all windows. In no time I had a lot of mosquito bites and my mosquito repellent was in my big luggage in the trunk of the bus ... It seemed to take ages before the bus was repaired and we were able to drive out of the forest.
A nighttime adventure that I would rather not experience again.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Craig,
Sorry about all the mosquito bites; thankfully you didn't catch any mosquito-borne illness(I hope!)! It must have been incredibly uncomfortable, though. The fog really sets the mood in this scene. All the colors are muted, and the tree in the background looks like a ghost. I hope all's well on your end. Take good care!

craig
marvelous mix of the fog and the old traditional ugly indian trucks. yes, we see many of them every day.here we have some troubles with mosquitoes, in the past we had only the native ones (they attack at night) but in these last years a mosquito from egypt came and attack during the day. here, to sleep outside is madness.
take care

Hello Craig,
I like this photo of parked trucks unloaded to the maximum in the morning fog.
In the United States there are no trucks unloaded like this.
Great daily life photo with perfect quality in difficult weather condition.
I am sorry to hear that mosquitoes have disturbed your stay in India.
Best regards,
Zbigniew
