A mango stall in New Delhi. In 2017, global production of mangoes was 50.6 million tonnes, led by India with 39% (19.5 million tonnes) of the world total. China and Thailand were the next largest producers with respectively 4,8% and 3,8% of the world total. Though India is the largest producer of mangoes, it consumes most of its own production. It is the 6th biggest exporter, accounting for 5,6% of global mango export. Source : wiki. This fruit is native to India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Its importance to humans dates back to around 2000 BC when it was domesticated in India. After domestication, the mango was introduced to East Asia between 500 and 400 BC. By the 15th century, it had made its way to the Philippines, followed by Africa and Brazil in the 16th century. Akbar, a Mughal emperor, planted over 100,000 mango trees in a place now known as Lakhi Bagh in Bihar. Today, mango trees can be found in a number of tropical climates. A good daily life photo of the mango seller. I like the warm colours of the photo, not only of the many piece of fruit, but also of the orange cloth hanging over the stall. Well captured and composed.

A superb outdoor market scene of the mango sellers. Bowen Mangoes are famous in Australia & although they do grow in Brisbane and Bundaberg suburban backyards, the fruit bats tend to get to them before people do, unless they are professionally netted. Tfs!

I find how this guy is sitting interesting. A daily, weekly, monthly spot. No shoes. Hard to tell if it is a small wooden stool resting partly against the car. I wish him lots of sales - difficult to make profits as he competes with the fellow beside him. India life.

mangos are so usual here, I didn't see many mango trees in the regions I visited in india, because they like humid areas.
nice view with the vendor in evidence and the fruits too. here they aren't so yellow.

Hello Miguel,
The first time I ever saw, and tasted, mangos was in Pakistan in 1972. I was very disappointed. I didn't like them at all, especially because most of the meat stuck between my teeth. Later on I got used to them and found better kinds. The stall where I bought them probably looked similar to this. Most of them did. The fruits provide a generous splash of yellow and orange, but most fascinating is how the salesman is seated.

In the right season mangos are for sale everywhere in India.
I regretted it that on my last journey in the south during our winter there were no mangos available.
The stall with the fruit surely makes a colourful street scene.
Strange position of the seller. I wonder on what he's sitting. It looks a bit like he's floting in the air.

Desconocia que la India es el primer productor de mangos del mundo. Aqui vemos un puesto de venta con una buena cantidad, al lado hay otro que parece tener lo mismo, una buena imagen que reafirma las estadisticas.
La gestiуn del color y la luz, son magnнficos, resaltando la imagen.
