Sun Temple, Konark is located about 65 km from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa province. The temple was built in the 13th century. It was designed a chariot of Sun God and drawn by seven horses on twelve pairs of decorated wheels. over the centuries, the temple was abandoned and dense forests grew around it. The temple remained buried under a huge mound of sand until restoration started in the early 20th century.
