Photographer's Note

Hello everyone,

This is my completely another photograph to TrekEarth. I captured this image at the 2nd week of December, 2013 when I visited at Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh.

This is a view of White Breasted Kingfisher and took its image at the embankment of river Mandakini in Chitrakoot. This is the most ubiquitous kingfisher in Central India. It has two different shades of blue on the back, dark brown ventral parts with a white patch on the throat and the breast. The head is dark chocolate in color. It catches insects, spiders, lizards and all sorts of small animals.

Namaste Swapan. I always wanted to photograph a kingfisher but I seldom saw one and if I did, it was from a distance. Plus, the ones in Australia are not as spectacularly coloured as this one is, especially on the beak.Great 200mm shot- admirable DOF. Lovely composition. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Roy,

I don't know but I would my picture a little make smaller in future I think that the bird more would come more into its own, we get to much grain.
But I like your picture and certainly of the nice White Breasted Kingfisher.
Sharpness and clarity make your picture very attractive.

Fabulous picture of the Kingfisher, Swapan, its colors are stunning red and brown with blue/green patchs.
We have a couple "reside" in my town from late autumn till late spring, every year - and posted a number of their photos on Te.
Charming yet impressive bird.
