Hello Dear friends,

This is a view of Chitrakote Water Falls.

The Chitrakote Falls is a natural waterfall located to the west of Jagdalpur. It is situated in Bastar district of Indian state Chhattisgarh. On the journey of River Indrabati through dense vegetation on the plain in Chahattisgarh, suddenly the water of the flows drops with a height of 93 feet and build this magnificent waterfalls at Chitrakoot. It is just 38 kilometer west of Jagdalpur. Chitrakoot waterfall is the largest waterfalls in India and also may be the widest waterfalls in Asia, so it is popularly called as "the Niagara falls of India". The wideness of the waterfall depends on the water level in the river Indrabati. And session by session it varies drastically, as in summer the span of the Chitrakoot waterfall is minimum, but during monsoon the water level of the river Indrabati touches the both banks and the waterfall also formed the widest, nearly 150 meter in wide and the falls look like wild in nature.

In monsoon i.e. July to September is the best time, when it spreads up to 150 meter in wide of brown colored water and also sunlight make rainbows here and there after reflect with the water grains. At the time of sunset, when sunlight drop on the water of Chitrakoot falls, it makes a magnificent environment to see. During summer and winter it forms a white fall and you can reach towards the falls by boat.

This is my third post of Chhattisgarh and I got an opportunity to capture it. I visited there in the month of September, 2014.

Interesantan i lep pogled, opsan trenutak ...
Dobar rad, lepo pokazana reka i vodopad, dobar kontrast i perspektiva, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak sa oblacima koji dolaze sa kiosm. Lepa reka i vodopad, lepa priroda.

Hello Swapan,
Magnificent sight of the turbulent gushing water at the Niagra-Falls... of Chitrakote, India. The sight immediately reminded me of the known falls in Canada, but taken a good second look - just to realize this giant cascade is no-less imposing.

wow, love this powerful image. reminds me alot of the waterfalls we see in Iceland.

the power of it is easily seen and almost felt through the monitor, quite impressive.

Strange - this waterfall reminds me the Iguazu waterfalls and also the name is the same - the Throat of the Devil (Garganta del Diablo). Impressive picture. What a huge amount of water.

Truely impressive waterfalls. Especially from this angle where you seem to be right at the water edge with your camera. Dark muddy colour of water and short exposure give almost solid impression on those roaring waves.

the force of nature has been well harnessed by you here. The force of that water is incredible and the dark sky adds to the drama of the scene. I was in chitrakoot several years ago for the sita-ram festival an amazing experience but only after I left did I learn about the falls. an opportunity missed.

Good close up of the brutal force of the waterfall. Personally I would have chosen a shorter shutter time to present the fresh drops ow water. The foreground is now almost a mud-stream. But in this subject personal preferences are always leading by your choices.

I wouldn't like to have an accident here, These waters look very dangerous. On the other hand the roaring brown water and the falls provided you with an excellent and dramatic photo enhanced by the grey sky. It is a very impressive sight and a well taken photo.
