Inside the Ananuri fortress there are two churches. The oldest is that of the Virgin, which rests on a high square tower, containing the tombs of some of the Dukes of Aragvi. It dates from the first half of the seventeenth century, and was built of brick. Inside there is a stone canopy erected by the widow of Duke Edishera, who died in 1674.

The largest church is that of the Assumption (Ghvtismshobeli), built in 1689 by the son of Duke Bardzem. It is a central dome-style structure with richly decorated facades, including a carved north entrance and a carved vine-branch cross on the south faзade. It also contains remains of frescoes, which include a Last Judgment.

Dentro de la fortaleza de Ananuri hay dos iglesias. La mбs antigua es la de la Virgen, que se apoya en una alta torre cuadrada, disponiendo tumbas de algunos de los duques de Aragvi. Data de la primera mitad del siglo XVII, y fue construida de ladrillo. En el interior se destaca un baldaquino de piedra erigido por la viuda del duque Edishera, que muriу en 1674.

La iglesia mбs grande es la de la Asunciуn (Ghvtismshobeli), construida en 1689 por el hijo del duque Bardzem. Se trata de una estructura central de estilo cъpula con fachadas ricamente decoradas, incluyendo una entrada norte tallada y una cruz de sarmiento de vid tallada en la fachada sur. Tambiйn contiene restos de frescos, que incluyen un Juicio Final.

Hello Luis,
More modest than the cathedral, but still an elegant and sophisticated building in a characteristic style. From this angle we get a good comparison between the two. We also see a number of interesting structures and diagonal lines. The foreground is not so flattering, but you couldn't do anything about that. The light is good and the colours are well rendered.

as formas da igreja sгo sempre muito parecidas, mas aqui vocк incluiu essas estruturas dos fundos da igreja e elas quebram a monotonia do tema e adicionam um encanto geomйtrico ao conjunto. muito bonito.

Ancient edifice and towers, superbly in sharpness and brightly shown.
Looks as its grandeur days were over, but we can assume that some renovations would probably give back its ancient beauty.

Hi Luis,
Relatively simple old church built on a steep terrain. Those two towers are the most distinctive features. It's surprising that they have different roof materials.

The names of these places sound already so exotic and unusual, which makes sense of course since it is such a different language.

Hola Luis, Interesting constructions without any windows. It must be quite dark inside, the windows in the towers are very small. this entrance looks very strange.
