Photographer's Note
Back home again after my annual winter vacation together with my wife. We had a nice vacation in Indonesia but we also spend some days in the small country-East Timor. A country remembered for a brutal and violent war against Indonesia during 25 years or so. Nowadays it's a free country but not with many tourists. Most visitors that I saw was businessmen. It is also famous for their handwown textiles - Tais. A quite expensive and sought after handicraft. And yes, I bought some for my mother:) This shot is taken in the opening hour at the market in central Dili. It's nice to be back to TE again. I have some breaks but always returns:)

Hello Boa,
Very interesting to find here a picture of this rather unknown country (at least unknown to me).
Does this country look like certain parts of Indonesia or did the former colonial power put a clear stamp?
For sure this young woman isn't dressed like the girls or women I've seen many years ago on Java.
After all, East Timor is far away from Java or Bali. With which Indonesian islands dit you combine your visit of this country?
Besides the young lady also the colourful textile work is striking.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Boa,
Back to the reality with the lady in foreground.
The island group around Indonesia is very nice I have friends coming out of the area, we dance in the dansschool together.
Sharpness and clarity are perfect.
A nice composition and lovely presentation
Very well done, TFS.,
Have a nice Sunday,
John

Hej Boa,
Gert

Hello Boa,
Yes, I remember well the violence in this region back in time, was in the news at those days - now it seems to be drawing tourists.
The colorful sight we see on this street is vivid, collected well in depth onto the stores and added life by the young lady crossing with a bucket on hand.
Have a nice Sunday afternoon.

Hello Boa,
Wow, you've been to East Timor. It's been a while since there was a new photo from that country here on TE. I like all the red color, not just on the door and wall, but on the toy truck that sits quietly on the ground. The woman has an American flag on her shirt, which is another surprise. Nice daily life shot. :-)

Hello Boa,
The early morning sun is just beginning to bring the market to life, and makes the contrasted sunlit and shady areas very interesting.
The young lady is a great focal image, her whole demeanour seems lively and happy, as she strides forward in her flip-flops, swinging her bucket. She is well positioned in the frame and is amazingly sharp, considering her movement!
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hi Boa,
You have captured well the action of the woman. The point of view is showing some details of the shops at the Tais market. The good luminosity is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.
