Energy kick, a photo from Dili, West

Photographer's Note

I was invited by some people to a backyard during my walks in Dili. We had interesting conversations and a lots of of fun despite language difficulties. I saw that more and more people was curious about me and began to gathering around the backyard, especially these boys. The situation here makes me smile because the boys was so full of energy. They jumped and laughed just like all excited kids do, especially when I took part of their game and pretended to chase them. I wish I could have their energy:) Perhaps nothing more to say about this shot but it was a memorable situation were we all had a nice afternoon in the backstreets of Dili.

Hi Boa
never heard of this City before, I know no idea about it!
But I can imagine as with many cities in Asia, its full of colourful and fun shots like this one.

Reminds me of my time in India where the children follow you and want to have their pictures taken. the smiles are the winning aspects of this shot, gotta love it.

This is a very nice group shot of these young friends.
Two of them probably wanted to take a posed position but the result looks very natural!
One thing is clear: This picture exudes happiness and joy.

It is such a refreshing shot, to see these boys, full of energy and good humour, obviously enjoying the interaction with you, rather than sitting at home, head over a game boy or computer!
It is such a lively, colourful shot!
It makes me smile just to look at it!

Hello Boa,
Bali, Lombok, Soemba, Soembawa, Flores, Timor was the row of these islands in former Dutch Indie we had to learn at school when I was a child.
It is nice to see on this lovely picture that there are happy and merry children and that they enjoy it to be on your photo.

Hello Boa, Nice scene with the happy kids. It reminds me the situations I have in many parts of the world, specially in the poorer countries where the children like fun and do not need very expensive toys, like in developed countries. And language difficulties aren't important. beautiful view of these boys full of energy.

Other cultures give sometimes specially conversations, but the language give sometimes problem indeed.
But your picture shows the young boys in perfect mood.
I like your daily life picture middle of the green area.

A picture of colourful happy kids who are certainly not camera shy and different, reactions & expressions are wonderful from children who are not used to being photographed everyday. I simply can't resist the colour popping as I think it suits the overall image really well. It's an interesting lively group with great sense of atmosphere too. An excellent candid, very well done. This is a wonderfully appealing photo, with the young boys all happy and engaged. This is very different that the mood I saw in the faces of the youth in the Solomon Islands. It's a sharp image with vivid colors and excellent composition.

the energy you mentioned can be felt through your photo, also the spontaneity, the friendliness and the fun the boys felt. I like the different colours on the clothes, the different postures and same broad smile in every boy's face. The eye contact is great too.
