The Tiger Leaping Gorge is famous for its steepness, one of the deepest gorges in the world and sits between Haba Snow Mountain in the north and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the south.

We were at the Upper Section of the Gorge ( Shangrila side ).
It's a long way down to the platform , ( the wooden steps seen in WS1 ) and a long way up too.
Or you can hire these men ( in the WS2 ).

Hello Loong,
When I travelled to China I read about the Tiger Leaping Gorge but I was never in Yunnan. So I didn't go there.
I remember I read that there was a very beautiful hike but it was also a dangerous one. Depending on whether it had rained, I seem to remember.
I hope that the couple here does not lean too much against the closure.
Hopefully the platform we see in the WS is built strong enough.
The turbulent water must have made an incredible noise.
Extraordinarily impressive photos.
A funny sight with the men waiting for customers.
BTW, did you see a tiger? :)

Hi Loong,fantastic pics from this deep gorge visited in a perfect season with the show made by this lot of water! The couple in the main pic give me the exact idea about the show is big! Now that is wild! A good photo of the raging waters of this famous gorge. It is probably a bit too wild for kayaking down.

A sight of mighty river stream, Loong, an amazing nature's powers.
Superbly taken from a higher perspective, scaled with the couple found a romantic moment there.

Hello Loong,
This looks very dramatic, but not just because of the strong current of the raging water. The inclusion of the two persons standing by the frail looking railing create the real drama. You balanced the photo well by placing the water running on a diagonal between the rocky hillside and the boardwalk. The two WS photos provide good complements. My favourite of those is the view of the rickshaw men waiting for customers.

Wow, this is a very raging torrent!
I wouldn’t fancy the chances of anyone falling in here!
On looking at your w/s I wondered about the difficulties of building this platform next to the river!
From the volume of water rushing down this gorge,I imagine that the noise is immense!

Thank you for including the w/s, which extend our understanding of the setting.

I have to ask, did you use the services of the men to descend to the lower level and, of course, to ascend?

wow, that's one raging river! Talk about the Power of Mother Nature. We can clearly see it here. The two people in the scene really do make an important appearance, makes me think are they safe. great shot

What a furious looking river! It must be flooding. The two people look so small against the mighty river. Great sharpness and exposure, and the close cropping makes the waves look huge but also reveals that it is a gorge with steep rocky walls.

Even though photos have no sound, I feel like I can hear the rushing of the water. It's so forceful and rough! I like how you composed this view, putting the couple and a bit of the walkway and fence in the lower, right corner. The rest of the frame has that powerful gush of water and steep rocks. It's quite a contrast. Take care!
