Photographer's Note

Lashi wetland and treasures of nature taken on a cool morning. I just loved the tranquility of the scene and stillness of the air that caught my eye straight away.

Location: 17 km out of Lijiang at an elevation of about 2500 m asl, also home to ethnics Naxi and Yi minorities who depend upon this watershed’s resources for their livelihood.

Setting: 18 mm, 1/100 sec, F11, ISO Raw 200, 0757 hrs & Polarised

Hello abmdsudi,

Again, your photo helped me to have a minute rest, while I'm working. As you pointed out the tranquility of the scene is really obvious and comes through the screen. The colour palette is also very nice, ranging from the deep blue to the yellowish tones.

The most attractive part of this picture - for me - is the foreground catching the golden light of the early morning. The contrast with the blue water and the sky is superb!

What a beautiful landscape, those wetlands look great and the colours are truly amazing, so vivid and well-saturated. I like the contrast of the deep blue and the golden hue of the grass. The boat at right is well included too in the composition.

Hi Abmdsudi,

I like the oblique fingers of rice reaching out into the blue water. Good warm cold color contrasts and the boat with the thatched roof at right is the icing on the cake. Tfs!
