Photographer's Note

Lijiang is considered one of the most beautiful villages in all China so you can imagine it is very touristy. In spite of this the locals rarely speak English even in tourist agencies and hostels. It is delightful city and exploring the narrow streets is wonderful experience. Along the picturesque canals there are many souvenir shops, restaurants, many charming inns in the old buildings. And the landscape around with the mountains over 5000 m high.
The two girls in blue are Naxi girls. Naxi culture is largely its own native Dongba religious, literary and farming practices, influenced by the Confucian roots of Han Chinese history, and also by the group's Tibetan neighbors. Especially in the case of their musical scores, it acts as the foundation of the Naxi literature. The Naxi have their own writing, their own distinct language and their own native dress.

Hi Malgo, Lijiang is in deed a nice but very touristic and extremely overpriced. Nowhere else in China was a cup of coffee 15 USD... The small streets are beautiful and you need a GPS to find something. Nice daily life pic.

The two ladies in blue and white traditional dresses grabbed the attention when looking at this picture, Malgo.
Yet, I find the wooden built houses marvelously shown with light and shadows and many tones of brown.

I really like the tight composition you chose here, showing the beautiful old wooden houses of the street so well. The warm tones are nicely enhanced by the fine sunlight. Excellent timing, the two traditionally dressed girls are very well included and their blue dresses add a nice colour contrast too.

Fantastic composition of this typical and authentic rincon, that carries the purest charm of China, with that typism of the houses, the two girls with the original costumes, I think that the typical ones of the city, are a perfect bonus that gives more environment to the photo.
Colorful, sharp and bright are captured excellently.

Hello Malgo,
This looks like a very picturesque corner but we can see that the place is touristic. With the name 'sakura' they probably want to attract Japanese tourists.
The two young girls are beautifully dressed. Traditional clothes together with a cell phone, if I can see well.
The picture is good detailed and the woodwork and the small roofs with tiles increase the charm.

Ciekawy fragment tej urokliwej miejscowosci. Kadr ze swietnym swiatlem w ktorym znalazly sie dziewczyny w tradycyjnym stroju. Na pewno nie czekalas na nie tak dlugo jak ostatnio Kasia po rozstawieniu statywu w Nepalu. Wykazanie sie refleksem tez rzynosi pozytywne efekty

I like the colors and textures in this frame, not to mention the old storefronts with character. The two women dressed like twins are placed strategically in the frame and add a nice focal point.
