Photographer's Note
Fung Ying Seen Koon is a Taoist temple located on the hillside of Fanling, in the New Territories of Hong Kong.
I visited the temple today for the first time. This is one of the photos I took as I entered the grounds.
I ended up taking a total of 135 photos. I can't believe I have walked past this temple every day for over 2 years and never realized the beauty inside. And don't worry, I won't be posting all 135 photos!!
The temple was built in 1929 and is one of the most influential Taoist establishments in Hong Kong.
It features magnificent halls and lobbies, a picturesque garden and a restaurant where visitors can enjoy vegetarian meals.

This is very nice (and quite interesting to realize that it was taken TODAY!). I like the metal dragon against the colorful background. Well done!

Excellent DOF Andrew! And I like your framing too. Pinsharp, and your choice of exposuring works well here (correct exposuring of the main subject, with a slight over-exposed background). Great compromise and an attractive documentary picture. Well done!

I always liked darggons, and this is a very nice one. It is very well framed. I think that you needed here more more narrow DOF, in order to have the background much more blurred. But it's very nice. I'll wait for the rest of 134 photos from this temple..
Well done, Andrew.

Well captured detail, I like the how the body of the dragon twists like a snake, and the claws. Great shot, and i think it will look good in duotone too... well captured.

Great picture ! The exposure is perfect, and the colour in background make a good contrast with the draggon. But maybe the frame is a little bit to close to the back of the draggon, because one paw is cut... But anyway, I like this picture

Very nice shot! The dragon stands well from the background. I'm wondering if the chain is also made out of stone or is it a "real" chain?

Hi Andrew. Excellent shot with great detail of the dragon. I have found that temples that look rather plain outside, can be awesome works of art once entered. I'm glad you went in. I do wish you had included just a bit more behind the dragon.

Very nice, Andrew. I like the DOF with the sharp metal dragon in the foreground, and the hint of a lot of colorful detail of the temple structures in the background. A very impressive work of art. Good note; time to bring on the other 134 ;o)

I know what you mean about taking a lot of photos, I took about 110 hutong pics the other day.
You pictures are (almost) always razor sharp, and this is no exception. Lots of detail on the main subject and even good depth of field, which is always tricky to get right on a digicam.

it is a very nice capture of this dragon, I always finfd it difficult to shoot those chinese details, just because I hunt for people around ;-) very nice picture, great shallow DOF, very sharp and colorful, nice!

Le cadrage est très beau est la profondeur donne tout le sujet en valeur.
J'aime cette qualité de l'image à en voir tous les petits détails.
Bien vu pour cette prise Andrew
