BANK OF CHINA TOWER, a photo from Hong Kong, South

Photographer's Note

I was going back to my hotel, located in a remote part of the town.
Statue Square is surrounded by impressive buildings. At left you can see Bank of China Building, 367 meters high. It was the highest of the world between 1989-92 being the first building to be more then 300 meters high outside USA.
It was created by the same architect who created the Louvre pyramid.When it was created the owners were afraid the city would be ruled by the same laws of China and because this the skyscraper was build in a way that it could be dismantled and mounted in another part of the world if necessary.
This was the only bank whose building didn't pay attention to feng shui rules. Locals say it resembles a kitchen axe.
The other building at right is Cheung Tower Center (1999).

Eu estava voltando ao meu hotel, que ficava numa regiгo remota da cidade.
A Praзa da Estбtua estб rodeada de prйdios incrнveis. А esquerda vemos o Banco da China com 367 metros de altura, foi o maior prйdio do mundo entre 1989-92 e o primeiro do mundo com mais de 300 metros fora dos EUA.
Foi criado pelo mesmo arquiteto que criou a pirвmide do Louvre. Quando o prйdio estava para ser erguido os donos temiam que a cidade ao passar аs mгos da China sofresse mudanзas bruscas e entгo o prйdio foi feito de maneira a ser desmontбvel, possibilitando que ele pudesse ser remontado em outra parte do mundo caso necessбrio.
Esse foi o ъnico prйdio de banco da cidade que nгo usou as regras do feng shui, os nativos o chamam de machadinha de cozinha.

Jorge, the two skyscrapers have an elegant and futuristic design. They were illuminated at the blue hour. They house mainly offices. Good vertical framing, fine colors, excellent sharpness, regards.

Hello Jorge,

These tall buildings seem to be rising into the sky and joining together in friendship.
Buildings are taking over!
They are definitely impressive and serve to accommodate many people in a place where land is no longer available.

Coming from a small village, where we have green fields, farms and animals, I feel overpowered by such buildings but, with a growing population, I understand their problems.

Hello Jorge,
The note tells me that these buildings didn't exist at the time of my visit. The nearest ones are both quite beautiful, maybe especially at this time of the day when all the lights are on inside, behind the dark glass, as they are reaching for the darkening sky. It's very good for a cellphone and a nicely simple composition.

Je me souviens trиs bien de ce gratte ciel. A l'йpoque oщ j'y йtais, il йtait tout seul , maintenant il a beaucoup de petit jumeaux.Superbe composition.

Hello Jorge, your notes make interesting reading, especially about the fact that the Bank of China building could be dismantled if necessary! I have never heard anything like that before about a skyscraper!
You must have felt tiny walking beneath these high rise buildings.

A good upward pov on the Bank of China building which attracted a lot of controversy for its bad feng shui, or location. Apart from that it it still an attractive skyscraper. Tfs!

Olб, Os hotйis perto do centro de Hong Kong sгo pobres e caros. Por esse motivo, fomos embora mais cedo para a China "real".
Eu tenho uma cвmera e celular e uso os dois. Й uma loucura porque tenho duas sйries paralelas de fotos. as fotos do celular sгo melhores e sгo geograficamente marcadas, entгo minha posiзгo й salva na foto. Mas a bateria nгo й suficiente para o dia e eu nгo gosto de usar o banco de potкncia ao tirar fotos.
Bela vista do banco da China, mas a nitidez poderia ser melhor.
