Dumpling madam?, a photo from Beijing, North

This was a great example of universal advertising outside a Hutong dumpling shop. You don't need to speak, or read Chinese to understand what this establishment offers.

We spotted this while wandering the Beijing hutongs south of our hotel in 2005. Sadly, when we returned to the area in 2007 and searched for it once more, the hutongs located there seem to have been one of the victims on Beijing's new construction.

Dumpling man: Dumpling madam?
Madam: Just give me one and leave.
Ddumpling man: hiiiiyaaaaaa hayk!
....that's why you couldn't find it when you returned.

Lol, I like the details here Cliff, very clear and sharp. Good way of adverstising indeed.
