Photographer's Note

There are many floating villages in Cambodia.
This one is located along the Tonle Sap river situated in the north of the capital, Phnom Penh.

Some houses are made of corrugated iron while others are made of wood and/or thatch.

Wow, c'est un village flottant tout entier!
Je me demande ce qui se passe lorsque le dйbit de cette riviиre augmente brusquement aprиs de fortes pluies.
Une image trиs vivante de ce village flottant et une introduction intйressante а la vie de ces personnes.

C'est comme dans un tableau. J'aime comment est bien placйe la premiиre pirogue а gauche. Le regard s'arrкte sur elle car elle se dйtache bien.
Cette gamine а l'air bien habile а ramer seule comme elle le fait.

Hello Marilyn,
very nice composition with the boats gradually leading us to the background and the group of houses. Clarity is magnificent throughout the picture. The light management is fine and together with sharpness gives us the lovely reflections. There is no contrast in the colours of sky and water and without the reflections the boats and houses would seem to float in the air. The bright colours are lovely and cheer up the scene. Well done!

J'aime bien l'йquilibre gйnйral de la photo et la brillance de l'eau. Les couleurs des gens dans la barque ressortent bien dans l'environnement bleutй.
La pirogue avec la fillette accroche bien aussi!

scиne trиs interessante sur la vie dans ce village lacustre,qui semble trиs paisible.J'aime beaucoup la douceur des teintes, l'harmonie entre le ciel et l'eau, et j'adore la "texture" de l'eau tout comme les petites touches de couleurs vives donnйes par les vкtements.

Ciao Marilyn, un altro stupendo scatto dalla Cambogia, ho consciuto proprio in questi giorni un italiano che ha affittato un pezzo di terra per 10 anni lм...non ricordo il nome della spiaggia...ma credo che non ce ne siano molti di posti...
La canoa con a bordo i bimbi tutti colorati da dei riflessi magnifici...la luce in generale и stupenda e la scena molto bella e ben inquadrata,

Un joli petit village de ces maisons flottantes, jolies scиnes de ces deux pirogues bien placй& dans l'image, j'aime celle avec la petite fille seule, les reflets et beaucoup de dйtails a voir
Passe une belle journйe ( il fait toujours aussi froid, jessie, elle est contente de jouer dans la neige :-) du coup a courir avec elle cela me donne chaud :-))

When I was there for the second time ,some policemen outside of Siam Reap some corrupt policemen wanted to charge us about 10 dollar to visit the lake by boat and we denied.
A good daylifeshot from this biggest lake in S.E.Asia.
One of my first TE uploads is from there.

On est loin de la neige et de la froidure mordante au Cambodge contrairement а la France en ce moment. La vie de ce gens est modeste, et probablement heureuse. Une belle photo de la vie quotidienne locale. Excellente qualitй. Bravo.

The view of a floating village is completely unusual (at least for us, living in Ukraine; we have only one town, Vilkovo on the Danube River, that looks similar) and highly interesting. Excellent composition and very good point of view to show this unique daily-life scene with all its amazing details!
