Life on the river, a photo from Kampong Chhnang, West

Photographer's Note

We drove from Phnom Penh to the city of Kampong Chhnang which has many floating villages along the Tonle Sap river.
Most of the people living there are from Vietnam, who live from fishing.

The only transportation is by boat, everybody has to use them, even kids!

on a vraiment l'impression d'кtre avec toi dans le bateau,au coeur de l'action.La scиne est belle et interessante,il y a plein de dйtails а regarder,la lumiиre et les couleurs sont magnifiques.

quel captage de cette jeune avec son bвteau, sueprbe image j'epиre qu'elle ne va pas passer а l'eau je pense qu'elle a l'habittude avec ces reflet sur l'eau quelle scиne superbe.

Hello Marilyn,

Beautiful colors and clear reflections is one reason to like the shot. The other one is how this little girl maneuvering the oar in the water. This is a very well lit image with sharpness.

Hi Marilyn,
The tight crop allows us to fully concentrate on the child and the hands on training she got on how to handle the boat and living surrounded by water. Technically I enjoyed the crisp image and the good speed inorder to freeze the splashing water around the oar while the reflection add dynamism to this composition. Great shot!!

It was good hearing from you! How are you my friend & where are you now...Cambodia, Thailand, Goa or France?

I didn't know the people in Tonle Sap are from Vietnam! Why would they take refuge in Cambodia?

This is a fine picture...especially like the small splash of water. The whole scene is bathed in warm light beautifully!
