I love the picture and it brings back good memories of a wonderful place. I wish his feet weren;t cut off like that, though.
And sorry, no note = no points.

Hey Huy. great subject here (though i don't see an element of
present, except for the presence of a digital photographer).
I guess a cropped up version (from bottom, left and right)
would do better: putting only the monk in foreground and eliminating the ground.
And ofcourse a note would be appreciated.
good luck.

There are many images her of Angkor but that doesnt mean there isnt room for more. This is a nice addition, nice colours and well composed, composed with some thought behind it, I just wonder why you didnt just lower yourself or the camera a little to include the monks feet.

Hi Huy
Nice idea on this picture. The colourful dress of the monks always adds to a composition, especially when you have a background like Angkor Wat. Too bad the monk's feet are slightly cropped...
Thanks for sharing ;o)

With just a few hours escaping away from work to bring back and share this picture, I'd say you were successful after such great efforts.
Looks to me you shot this between 3 and 4 PM when the light still too strong.
I am waiting for other pictures you took inside the wat.

A very pleasant composition here: the monk looking at the temple is a kind of uintessence of Cambodia. Good colours and reflections.
Perfect point of view.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Huy
I like the depth & color added by the orange robed Buddhistmonk in the fg. Good reflections & colour, but could be a bit sharper. TfS!

Hi Huy,
I like the picture through the combination between the monk in foreground and the splendid building in background, in middle the wonderful reflections, one advice Huy, take your picture F16 or F18 specially for the depth sharpness! Very well done, thanks for sharing.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hello Huy. It's good to see your pictures again. The monk is well placed and I love the reflections. It might help to reduce the brightness a tad. Very nice one Huy.

Good to see you back on TE Huy.
Whilst you chose the classic POV of Angkor Wat with its excellent reflections in the lake, the inclusion of the monk in the foreground is what makes this different and very special. Maybe he is a local monk, but we can imagine he is making a pilgrimage here and has stopped to gaze in wonder. Very good shot.

Hi Huy - the essential Angkor composition, quite well done, I wish he was in profile rather than ass facing camera, though that is not so bad, the orange robe is eye catching, what bothers me more is the feet being cut off

Cool to have your visit... A long time you're right...
A beautiful composition, with this monk gazing at the temple, as if it was me there. Makes me feel the sensations of the place. That's a well composed effect in a cool soft light.

A very good idea to include the monk in this picture so the picture has a different element than the many others posted on TE. Must be a very impressive place and no matter whether you see it by day or sunset/sunrise it always looks great. Maybe you can try to add a frame or enhance the contrasts a bit then the effect would be even better but apart from that I like the picture.

Great shot and composition. Color kinda blend, but manageable.
The topic of the picture is perfect for the shot, and the crop at the feet of the monk is very precise for the picture too. (In my opinion) I cannot stand reading comments from other members, so I have to jump in and say something.
The picture is taken on Nov 2006, which makes it present. On the other hand, monks and the temple existed over a thousand of years. and that make it the past since it has not change since then.
This picture is a keeper, worth alot to me, and I hope it will stay ageless throughout time. I wanted to express my pov toward the picture, and I hope people will see it too.
First, the crop at the feet is perfect for the picture, because it showing how lightly we are standing on this stable ground looking back at the distance path of our ancestors.
Second, the focus is on the temple but not the monk, and that shows we are more focus on the distance materialistic world then paying attention to our vulnerable impermanent selves.
Third, the monk is calmly standing by himself starring at the temple as it cast a reflection upon the pond. I believe it is metaphor for life; itself. The temple is very permanent, but it only as real as casting a good reflection up the pond, but the monk is living in the moment and every moment of his life.
Well, there are much more things to say, but those are a few that I wanted to share. I hope find a good living room for it, because I am very respect this photo.
