Life on the river (3), a photo from Kampong Chhnang, West

Photographer's Note

We went to the province of Kampong Chhnang, situated at about 90 kms north of Phnom Penh, to visit a Vietnamese floating village along the Tonle Sap river.
We took a sampan to go through the village.

Twice a year the villagers have to move their floating village. During the rainy season they move close to the bank to avoid the storms, and move back to the open lake when the water goes down,according to the depth of water.
A floating village needs between one and four meters of water beneath it.

beautiful warm color with low light, love the reflection. the presence of the people and the woman coming home on the boat adds daily life value to the composition.
