In 2011 Azerbaijan won the Eurovision contest and - as a routine - took over a hostage of the 2012 event... The president of the country, then, ordered to "prepare" the city for this year's show...

So they did...

Almost looks like the city was taken over by an alien race, the contrast is so striking, Jerzy - The inclusion of the old man walking away from the modern buildings and into the past is a fantastic way to reinforce the theme here. Really well composed shot.
