Outstanding portrait of a traditional Afghan man. The colors are great and the clarity is fantastic. I'm curious what tribe this man is from and what the different elements of dress mean. Great photo!

Merhaba Mete,
I was almost sure that this man was selling carpets, before reading your note : I bought one from a guy looking exactly the same in Quetta (Pakistan), and he had told me that he was from Afghanistan, but I could communicate a little with him... in Turkish !

It is somehow reassuring to see such a smile, such a good, nice face. He is a salesman, doing his job, trying to live. And still, he gave to you his soulful smile. And to me. And you did your job and succeeded in creating a good relation so that he smiled that way to you.
I like the fact that you have included in your framing some of the carpets. Not only does that place him in its context, but the colors are a nice addition. Good reading of the light, even though the sun was quite strong.
