Edge Of A Rain Shower, a photo from Kyklades, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

A rare event on my last trip to Thira on Santorini, Greece, a rain cloud that showered just a small area of the town and the caldera. A strange experience as the sun was shining on the steps and the sea in the right half of this image and yet you can see the very edge of the rain falling like a smudge in the sky and on the sea.

I have seen dozen of those Santorini shots, one equal to the other - yours is an exaption. The sky is so amazing and the pov even so outstanding.

I am truly impressed. The composition is perfect here with the stairs leading the eye to this wonderful view. The seascape withe the family of boats is what every photographer could wish for. The sky very good as well and most of all I admire the well balanced exposition of all regions in this photo.

A fine photo of this dramatic staircase!
The black frame is set very well to contrast with the whitewashed buildings, leading down to the waters.
The calm water and collection of boats contributes to the gentle, holiday atmosphere. A beautiful piece of work.
