Photographer's Note
Today I’m back to a genre I feel more comfortable with – landscapes, or more simply; things that do not move! This was a serendipitous few minutes; the clouds were scudding across the sky casting superb areas of light and shade over the dunes.

Hi Rosemary
The fresh green grass contrasts well with the arid dunes and surroundings. Nice soft clouds in the sky making those shades on the sand...
Nice!

Good evening Rosemary, my today's neighbour on TE posting.
I learent a new serendipitous word in English, thanks for that.
What a moment collected, the red tone on the hills is stunning, and in fine contrast to the green valley in front.
Beautiful and no less impressive.

Hello Rosemary,
A genre that you excel at so I am always happy to see more landscapes from you. The light areas amongst the shadows seem to glow. The sand dunes adopt such beautiful flowing shapes - as if an artistic had painted them. Another gem.

Hello Rosemary
A lovely shot... great areas of light an shade with the lovely contrasting colours of the dunes and the green land in the foreground.
More in keeping with an English landscape than a Namibian one in some ways!
Well captured.

Hi Rosemary
Splendid effect of the shades of the clouds on the orange hills giving the sense of space, vastness. I would have cropped the bottom of the picture area without grass and also a portion of the sky to get more colors.
Congratulations

Nice place, very different with the green grass spots that what I could see some years ago. I like a lot the colors contrast between green, orange and blue. Moreover, the light, filtered through clouds is giving a good rendering on the big dunes.

Oh, wow, Rosemary, this looks as if it has come straight from a Disney movie! I love to see the effects of light and shadow in a photograph and this is text book stuff! Is it possible to ski dunes? It looks so inviting!
You have a fine composition; thirds are green, orange and blue, each with its own distinct texture. There is such a natural movement elicited from f/g to b/g.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hi Rosemary
Don't put your light under the chair as we say in german. Means your photos of people and animals are equally good as your landscapes.
This one here is an other fine example of your extraordinary talent. Superb colors and beautiful light with a pleasing sky, this is very pleasing to look at.

Hi Rosemary
This is remarkable and rarely seen, splendid that you are at right spot at the right time registering the fantastic moments. The gaps within the moving clouds have projected the sunray with such awesome subtle shades and golden colors on the silky smooth dunes. The moving effect of the scudding clouds is so noticeable here and the two more layers of contrasting colors on the fg further extend the whole 'beauty' This is really marvelous, mouth watering capture!!
My compliments :)) TFS

Hi Rosemary,
I know -it is such a huge difference to photograph landscapes and people. For me even the landscapes change too fast with the light suddenly changing -like in this photo the dunes seem to be a scene for a spectacle of the play of light with shadow. People are much more challenging to photograph. I get a lot of complains from my wife that I don't photograph our new baby daughter frequently enough -but it is so difficult! I like the green grassy foreground in the context of the sand dunes.
Beautiful place, great presentation,
M

Hi dear Rosemary
Interesting word "scudding" and I think you break a record for using it, as I've never seen it in a photo title before :) Yes, I empathise with you, landscapes don't move, don't misbehave or abuse you. And of course being with nature is an instant de-stress (something I don't always get when I hang around people) :) Anyway, to your photo, the clouds certainly have played their role on the landscape which looks almost like a paint canvas. The rich colours are wonderful and the undulating hills make a stunning graphism. Lovely shot
Warm regards

Almost imperceptible variations in different scenarios in their frequency.
An km., A cloud, a shadow and enchantment another microsystem, a "location" extraordinary.
Perhaps the myth of the "mirage" comes from losing the fixed points.
The temptation to be distracted from this nature is great.

A beautiful spectrum of colors and light/shades. The centre looks supernatural with its illuminated area bordered by dark shades. The light green grass is a testimony of the recent rains, I presume.

Hi Rosmemary,
There's a very elegant and almost abstract feel to this mountainscape. The lineplay is lovely and so is the shadow play. It's a great and neat graphic packege with the placement of those two lone trees as the cherries on the cake.
Xcellent work!

Hello Rosemary,
I do not think I can add to all the accolades above but I certainly do endorse them. What a wonderful image and, I am sure, such green grass in this environment is not an everyday occurrence. The colours and the effects of the sunlight on the landscape are just marvelous. Well done.

Hi Rosemary,
A very well composed image and great use of light and shadows to create a dramatic feel, with excellent descent color palette and depth. The play of light through the grass field and onto the sand hills, with the blue-white sky above it make this picture even more powerful, enhanced by the stark contrast of well lightened sand hills and the sky. Well done.

Hello Rosemary,
the light and the shades create a fantastic aesthetic game on the dunes, which you have caught skillfully by means of a good framing and a good technical execution. I like the beautiful natural colors and the strong chromatic contrast between them.
It is a splendid photo.

Hi Rosemary,
The distance between the field and the dunes is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the dunes. The good luminosity is giving nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Rosemary,
Wow! This is my type of landscape when I am out in the Fossil Beds here in Oregon.
You captured the light and placed the hills in a beautiful and perfect composition. The reds and greens are as they should be, complimenting one another. That lone lit tree on the right slope would make a composition in itself if you would have been able to walk nearer to the hills.
Beautiful work...
