Photographer's Note
This one is for Danielswalsh
Dan and I took a trip to the Singapore Zoo a week or so ago. This shot is not from that trip but from Dan's favourite stop there - the White Tigers. Dan insists on calling them white lions for some reason...but who cares.
Dan has more - and far better - shots of these guys in his gallery - linked above
Cheers
Mark

Olá Mark!
Fantástica essa imagem, a priincipio pensei até que era uma foto em B&W! A situleza do animal e o reflexo na onda ficaram ótimos, a famoso momento decisivo mesmo!
Parabéns e Abraço!

Mark,
A nice one..I thought it was a B&W and was wondering why an tiger face to be B&W, till I read the note.
Well captured...
I am using a canon 75-300 aswell..Is it the USM III?
Cheers,
Prem.

What a great white image, Mark
He's got an outstanding charactor especially in the water. Bright figure with bengal stripes looks great against dark background.
I just imagine if the shot cover his reflection on the water surface might be more impactful.
Great one.

Hey Mark,
I do like Dan's shot, but this one is fantastic. The tiger is well exposed and really has an ominous feeling as he is stalking from out of the water. His eyes are really spectacular.
Take care,
Don

Hahahaha....
That's what I get for posting photos while half asleeep. Thanks for pointing out my error- it HAS been corrected.
Thanks for the acknowledgement Mark!
Sharp detail, good levels in the lion (oops I mean tiger). I think you might have been a bit better off with a composition that includes the full reflection vs the dead space above the head. But things are not always possible from the safety of the viewing platform. Maybe try getting wet next time???? :- O
All the best!

Excellent shot, I love how the white head emerges from the surrounding inky blackness here. Great contrast, and there's something very tranquil about this image.
Cheers

Hi Mark, quite a long time, i had a look in your gallery and i missed a lot of picture ! I stop on that one which is really good, i thought a BW in thumbnail but no, only an excellent compo and positioning of this white tiger, i love how the white hits from all this dark.
Excellent mister :)

Love the moment you've captured. I might have tried for a slightly less central composition, but then again, I wasn't there ;). Like the darkness of the water in contrast to the white tiger. Well done.

I love the crispness and intensity of contrast in this shot. Great job!
