Photographer's Note
Please click on the link to see the photo in the much clearer and larger Beta version BLISS IN BLACK AND WHITE.
Here we have another photo of the lovely and artistic Bliss Dancer. A new sculpture in Las Vegas. She is 40 feet tall, and put together by linking wires and cables, its quite beautiful and striking.
I wanted to see how it would turn out in black and white. I have other black and whites as well, one in particular with much better lighting, but I prefer this composition.
As mentioned in my previous post, I prefer to compose the dancer like this, as it gives the sense she is trapped inside some sort of box, and is trying to get out. Just to try to make it more dramatic looking, as opposed to a straight forward boring view.
Please look in the WS for two more photos. One is in the wider angle so you can see the entire sculpture in its environment.
Hope you like it

Hello Craig,
I like very much this point of view, which shows the sculpture and its construction to superb effect. Good choice also of black and white, which contributes much to the mood of the composition. Very well realised with a fine range of tones and excellent sharpness. A fascinating piece of work.

Bonjour Craig,
Aussi beau par devant que par derrière. La contre plongée est violente et la pose très très sexuée. J'aime l'utilisation du noir et blanc dans les circonstances.
Amicalement

Hello Craig, another opportunity for us to study this rather strange sculpture, I think that it is the fact that she is semi-transparent.
I like your idea of the box confining her movement, it focuses our attention.
Three very good shots.

Hello Craig,
I must admit that the B/W composition doesn't grab me as much as the color ones do, but this work of art is fabulous now matter how you view it. :-) I like your POV. Looking into the sun, and having it shine through her sheer body, we can definitely see more of the cables and wires. Is the exterior also made of thin wire cables, or is it some kind of mesh?

Hello Craig,
A great capture of this dancer, very well composed and seen from an excellent, low POV. The sharpness is superb and I really like the many silvery tones against the darker grey background.

Hi Craig,
it is amazing how very different photos they are -I needed to look and look again to make sure that it is the same structure.
Brilliant effect here: the dancer looks indeed as if she was trapped in your frame. You have "framed" her :) May be the title could be "framed".
Anyway, great series, I like it very much!

Hi Craig,
The sculpture is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the sculpture of the Bliss Dancer. The black and white is giving a very good sharpness. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig
This is such a photogenic sculpture that is perfectly to be photographed from all sides, although it is likely that a ban on drones in Las Vegas will make a picture from above difficult. Black and white is also a wonderful opportunity for Bliss.
Excellent work
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Craig, An interesting alternative to the colour version. This shows up the transparency very well and has a more subtle appeal. Again, the cropping is the key to its success.
Best wishes........Maggie

Hello Craig,
I'm not totally convinced of the artistic quality of this sculpture, maybe I should see it with my own eyes to be able to make up my mind. But the material makes it quite interesting, and I am fully in favor of this composition and the B&W conversion. I agree, the way you cropped this she really looks trapped in a box.
Best wishes,
Gert
