The magic mood of a late afternoon at Lamayuru.

Lamayuru or Yungdrung Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist Gompa (monastery) in Kargil District, Western Ladakh, situated on the Srinagar - Kargil - Leh road 15 km east of the Fotu La, at a height of 3,510 mt.

superb and impressive place,under a wonderful light.I was in Leh last year,but due to the terrible storms,the roads were cut, many people died,and we had to stay in Leh.But I hope to come back next year,and I will be very intersted by your picture,and look forward to see them.

Come on, I missed you by a couple of days or maybe we were in ladakh at the same period (as for me from Aug. 15 to Sep. 2nd)
Grrrr just too bad we could not meet there

That makes quite a few of us who visited Ladakh this year...I had been there in May end!
Fine picture of Lamayuru against the rocks darkened by the shadows of the clouds. Its another world, Lmayuru, a surreal experience! Look fwd to see your pics from Ladakh!
