Gran Paradiso, a photo from Rhone Alpes, South

I haven't put any photos on this site for a few years, but I have some time to myself now, and I have bought a new camera since my last post.

This is the view from the famous Aiguille du Midi at Chamonix, looking towards the Gran Paradiso (the high point on the horizon) in Italy. Viewing conditions were perfect on this morning, and the valleys of the Italian Alps were full of cloud. The view would have looked like this 20,000 years ago, except that ice would have filled the valleys instead of cloud. A cable car takes people up to this point, perched on the top of a rock spire 3800 m high: breath-taking in every sense.

At first I thought that the white
color is concerning the clouds
into the sky...
but then i understood that this
is the view from the famous aiguille
du Midi at chamonix
wonderful landscape covered by snow...

Rares sont les retours sur TE , aussi c'est avec plaisir que l'on retrouve d'anciens membres . surtout avec des photos telles que celle ci .Paysage exceptionnel de haute montagne , avec des ombres et lumiиres , la mer du nuage .

Hi Vincent,
A fantastic high mountain view where clouds hide all the human influence. I wonder why I never took a cable car ride up there, although I have visited Chamonix twice. It is a bit difficult to choose right exposure on such extremely bright conditions. But I wish this could be a little brighter without losing contrasts.

Indeed, a breathtaking scenery!
We have to look carefully to know what snowfields are and what thick cloud layers are.
Many dark peaks rise impressively above it.
