I don't actually know who was this Gentleman standing right next to the bus. I was trying to capture the bus on its own but the Guy wouldn't step aside to let me do it. He was really proud to be standing there, as if he was the bus owner. To be honest initially I thought g hew was the bus driver, but after a while the real driver appeared, got into the bus, invited passengers and left. Maybe the guy on the photo was as passionate about these busses as many people in Malta are?

A typical Malta bus is both the bus used for public transport on the Mediterranean island of Malta, and also a major tourist attraction on the island. This is mainly due to their unique appearance grounded in the bus ownership and operation model employed on Malta. Malta has several bus types that are no longer in service anywhere else in the world (!!!) and the funniest thing is their drivers would be quite advanced in their age as well.

The unique nature of the Malta bus stems from the tradition of local ownership of the buses by the drivers, and their historic practice of customising them. I've noticed very few busses which would be identical - there was always something unique about each one, although they were og the same type. In addition to a high degree of customisation, detailing and decoration, several Malta buses also have a unique appearance due to the practice of in-house maintenance, rebuilding or modifying of bus bodies in local workshops.

As an iconic feature of the island, the classic Malta bus features on several tourist related items. As the main mode of public transport on the island, the Malta bus is also used by many tourists to visit the different parts of the island. While newer Malta buses follow standard bus designs found elsewhere, customisation and detailing has continued for these buses too.

Tip: tickets are honestly very cheap, usually 47 cents to most of the places, so I highly recommend taking a ride. Drivers are very polite, happy to chat and tell you all about their busses, answer all questions you may have. Also they do not oppose if you want to photograph the bus - they are indeed very proud of them.

The charm of this photo lies in the POV, at first I thought you had done a closeup photo of the reflection on a rearview mirror. so is this a wideangle lens you used, could you tell me the focal length please. TFS,

cześć Darek, Nie wiem, dlaczego chciałes gościa przepedzić sprzed tego autobusu. z nim zdjecie nabralo wyrazu. Ale autobusiki są też ekstra, to trzeba przyznać. Pozdrawiam

Ale strzał! Śmiem twierdzić że bez tego gostka foto by ucierpiało... Fantastyczna notka, uśmiałem się.
Ogуlna jakość - odlotowa!
Jeśli mam się czegoś czepiać to tylko POV... być może przejście krok - dwa w prawo by dało lepszą kompozycję. Wydaje mi się że za mało się dzieje w lewym dolnym rogu zdjęcia - to częsty kłopot strzelających z ultraszerokiego kąta - trudno jest skomponować kadr, żeby coś wszędzie się działo i z niektуrych fragmentуw wyziera nuda.
Ale i tak zaj*** zdjęcie!

Very good low wide angle shot of this beautiful bus. And a few others in the background. This is the main station at the city gate, right?
My guess is that he really is the bus owner, waiting for another driver to take the next shift.
Here's the same bus, and I think the same gentleman behind the driving wheel.
