Matterhorn Sunrise, a photo from Valais, West

Photographer's Note

One of the most perfect mountain in Europe... Matterhorn mountain is located near to Zermatt un Swiss Valais. This beautifull monolith (4478m) was first climbed on July 14, 1865 by seven alpinist. During this first ascent, four of them fell on the Matterhorn Glacier and died.
This shot was taken last thursday morning near from the Stelisee Lake. This famous viewpoint of the pyramidal mountain offer us magical light.

Equipment : Canon EOS 5D, EF 17-40 f4L, Tripod, Hitech nd Filters.

I'm waiting to see Cervino's mountain from many years and during my last summer's holiday I travelled in Val d'aosta to catch an image of it...but it was rainy for several days... I'll see it, i know. Meanwhile I can satisfy my curiosity with your beautiful picture. No critiques.

Stunning Xavier, one of the best shots I have seen on TE lately, the mirrored water the excellent subtle colours and finally the reflection. The jagged edges from the mountain show complete and perfect detail even at 800 pixels. This must look awesome at a bigger size. It doesn't get better than this.

Une image trиs йquilibrйe dont la luminositй me fait penser immйdiatement а un HDR. La nettetй est au top et avec la qualitй des couleurs et la compo c'est une des forces de cette photographie. J'aurais volontiers vu les deux rochers un peu plus bas dans l'image de maniиre а ce qu'ils ne se superposent pas avec l'autre rive du lac. Mais difficile de prendre de la hauteur. Superbe ciel йgalement.
