Photographer's Note
A shot from the black sand beaches in Vik. The village of Vík (or Vík í Mýrdal in full) is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around the island, around 180 km by road SSE of Reykjavík.
This black sand beach was made by several eruptions of the valcano Katla.

Great photo looking down on the beach at Vik. I have been to Vik. The vertical format works well and the white surf contrasts against the pitch black sand. Did you take the photo from a plane? Tfs, Marlene
