Photographer's Note
Arriving on Mull a day late due to the west of Scotland being lashed by the remnants of Hurricane Katia and most ferries to the Isles cancelled, it was a relief to see clear skies and a still waters.
Tobermory was built as a fishing port in the late 18th century and is now the main village on Mull. It is a picture-postcard kind of a place with the brightly painted buildings along the main street to the pier and the high woodland-fringed hills surrounding the bay. The harbour is always busy with fishing boats, yachts and the ferry to and from Kilchoan.

Bonjour Rosemary
Une image très bien composée.Le choix de l'exposition rend très bon le contraste.Le rouge sur les architectures à gauche donne une excellente touche à cette réalisation.
Bonne journée

Hello Rosemary,
I saw Scotland only in the photographs , but I must say that it is a wonderful land that offers beautiful views of mountains and sea cliffs.
Your shot of the island of Mull is executed with skill and precision with absolute clarity on all focal planes.
Good reflections and nice colors.
My compliments
Have a nice day

Aha ! The journey begins...
You have some wonderful colours here, giving a lot of interest. Good reflections in the still clear water maintain the interest, and the composition completes the effect. The red house on the ninth is a really effective key.
We young parents, sorry, parents of young children, recognise this as the home of Balamory, ( What's the story in Balamory ? ) but I wont trouble you with that !!

hi rosemary,
this is a cracking picture. the colours are so luminous and bold, very well saturated. the sky and clouds are great, as are their reflections in the calm water. the positioning of the boats in the foreground creates a good balance to the composition.

Hi Rosemary,
The light is wonderful as the clarity, may be because of open sky after the storm. Liked the trail of colorful houses there, nice one

Hello Rosemary,
......Wouldn't you like to know? ..The story of Balamory, of course!
Oh, dear, this just makes me realise how long it has been (at least 12 to 15 years) since I visited Mull, Skye and other remoter parts of Scotland - it makes me feel so guilty and also so jealous!
The calmness is indeed what is so apparent in this beautiful photograph. Fabulous reflections in the glassy water, the deep blue of the sky and its reflections, all contrasting beautifully with the brilliant colours of the seaside houses. Even what would otherwise be a hideous grey boat in the foreground now looks charmed sitting proudly on its pretty reflection.
Good composition too, the near ropes leading the eye into the picture. And, as usual, stunning detail and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Rosemary
you're exactly right about the calm after the storm type of atmosphere.
it really does look peaceful and serene.
love the water reflections, and how the clouds also appear. looks like a sheet of glass, and even metallic.
lots of color, and illumination.
enjoy your day

Hello Rosemary,
You're capturing well this calm port scenery by a good composition and tasteful color tone, so it's impressive and interesting to see the spectacle in which many small ships are at anchor in the quiet harbor. It's impressive in colorful ships and houses which stand in the harbor. The whole is unified by gentle atmosphere. And, the refelection projected to the sea draws out a good effect as well as the hill with mild slope which is beyond visible.
