Kolkata is famous for many things but the hand pulled rickshaw is arguably the most well known symbol of the city. There are around 30 to 40 thousand remaining in operation. Despite efforts to have them banned they still provide income for many of Kolkata's impoverished residents. This image is from a scanned photo taken in 2001.

Hi Simon.

Timeless image extremely well captured. The off-centre placement of the subject gives it room to breathe.

You've done a really good scan but the contrast is a fraction low. This is quite pleasing in itself and gives a slightly 'dusty' feel to the scene. However, it might be worth seeing what happens with slightly higher contrast.
