Photographer's Note

In 2007, there were really unbelievable tulips all around Istanbul. They don't last too long certainly, but in the meantime it is very enjoyable to go and discover new sights where these displays are. Gulhane Park was such a place, although the best parterres are usually found in Emirgan Park. Here I was impressed by the austere grey of the trees which sided with the packed deep red of the tulips. Nothing except grey and red was my idea when I set a long lens with a tripod, the 70-300 mm which became almost 400 mm in this case.
