Edinburgh: The Fringe

Last night I came back home after a couple of days in Scotland again to visit the Edinburgh Festival. So my next pictures from Denmark just have to wait a little longer, because today, I want to upload an impression of what the festival was like.
Here you can see a part of the Royal Mile, High Street, in the heart of the Old Town of Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Fringe (or just The Fringe, officially the Edinburgh Festival Fringe) is the world's largest arts festival. It was established as an alternative for the Edinburgh International Festival in 1947 and takes place during three weeks in August. It is one of many cultural festivals in the city at the same time, collectively known as the Edinburgh Festival.

I thought this photo would give a nice idea and impression of the atmosphere in the city, like I said, it's a view down the Royal Mile, with in the background the spire of the Tron Kirk. The photo was taken in the early evening of last Saturday.

I hope you like this photo and thanks for your visit!
