Photographer's Note
Bran Castle is touted as Dracula's Castle, even though he might have only stayed there one night, and spent far more time at several other castles around Romania.
The 15th-century Prince Vlad the Impaler of Wallachia, who was also known as Dracula, was quite ruthless with any invading Ottomans as well as any Romanians he considered a threat. He was eventually betrayed to the Ottomans in 1476 by Basarab Laiotă (who had dethroned Vlad's brother, Radu) and his corpse was dismembered as 'payback' for his brutality. 'Dracula' is also the Romanian word for 'Dragon'.
"Dracula is the Slavonic genitive form of Dracul, meaning "[the son] of Dracul (or the Dragon)". In modern Romanian, dracul means "the devil", which contributed to Vlad's reputation."

Hello Chris,
Bright sunlight enhanced the beautiful colors of the trees on the slope beyond the castle edifice.
Fine view down to the road, gave good perspective of the surrounding to this place.
Good evening,
Ike

Hello Chris,
I never reached this level of Bran castle. From this angle we don't see the crowds of tourists. The turrets and brick roofs and the autumn coloured trees are much nicer. The light is well handled.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
Vlad the Impaler/Dracula is well known throughout many countries but this beautiful, sunlit scene seems incongruous with the reputation with which it is associated!
I like the strong textural details of roof, anchoring the f/g with excellent clarity and colours.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Chris,
Les arbres cadrent bien le château. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du château Bran. La lumière donne de belles teintes aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello,
Original POV of the iconic castle, very different from the common postcards. Now I've noticed that I've been there 4 or 5 times but I don't have pictures of it!!!

Hello Chris
It's quite bewildering to know that an insane character went to hide in such romantic premises!!
The sloping roofing tiles as well as the many columnar towers steal the limelight to the backlit autumnal colors of the valley for a much-attractive rendering.
Good news; the crackpot left forever!
Hava g'day.

Hi Chris,
Fantastic viewpoint over small towers of this castle. Light is perfect. Autumn tones on those yellow trees look just great.

Hi Chris,
so it seems there are multiple Dracula castles in Romania. It must be tough to choose one.
Great light here, it feels very much like autumn.
Very good point of view at the same level as the roofs and turrets.
Beautiful final effect.
