Dunes from Bazarutos, a photo from Inhambane, South

Photographer's Note

This is a view from the top of a dune from one of the Bazarutos island, in front of Inhambane about 800 km north of Maputo.

Last August, my wife and I made a long road trip from Mpauto to the Kruger park then tried to come back up to Beira. We had a car problem in Morrumbene the day before reaching Inhambane but could arrange this quite safely thanks to nice Mozambican guys. The following days, we were on those dunes gorgetting successfully this unexpected incident.

The beaches from those islands located about 10-15 km from the coast are excessively gorgeous. They are also great spots for diving and snorkeling.

Great shot, Steven,

You have captured a wonderful natural spectacle here! The light plays beautifully with the ridges and contours of the dunes and your POV puts the pockets of shadow and lips of sunlit sand on full exhibit! Beautiful contrasts between the deep azure waters and warm tan sands. A very attractive portrait of the natural splendor of Mozambique! Well done and thanks for sharing.

Nice and high dunes you are presenting here. A good choice not to take it from the highest point so he have something to look up to.
If I understand your note correctly the water on the left is a lake or is it actually the sea with some islands in front?
Good light management and nice texture and shadows in the sand.
