Photographer's Note
Marrakech Vert
To complete the RedGreenBlue series (thanx for the RGB idea, Kath) today Marrakech Vert. Marrakech has many green spaces, like the park of the Kotoubia mosque and the Menara gardens.
Displayed here is a orange grove in the central garden of the Palais Badii (Badia Palace) This was the royal palace during the Saadian dynasty, when Marrakech was the Imperial Capital. The complex was built in 1578-1594 around a court yard with sides 135 and 110 meters and was vengefully stripped in 17th century after the end of the dynasty, marble parts were re-used in the constructions of other buildings.
The PCS3 work flow: I altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, enhanced the edges, USM-ed, added a frame and resized and did a gentle USM (0,9px, 22%) again. The image quality is alas a bit sub par – due to the great amount of detail in the trees here and the noisy character of the Z5 images, I had to set a very high jpg compression factor.

Dag Bert,
John.

This is a very well composed picture with a great use of the thirds. The colour combination is also great. I can imagine that the oranges would not stay very long on the trees. Well done.

Hallo Bert,
Groet, Henk

Hi Bert,
Wonderful and really well composed back-light shot. I love how the orange trees lead in to the the "orange" buildings building in the background. Great light and really good overall sharpness. TFS and have a nice week-end!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hi Bert,
Fijn weekend verder!
Groeten,
Lars

Hi Bert. This photo reminds me when I visited Morocco, already 18 years ago! The vision of a green valley after crossig the stone dessert bound to Erfoudz, It was something like the feeling I got from this photo, and I love it.
Take care!

You found an excellent POV. I love the close but downward view on the orange trees. The row of trees leads the eye right through the scene to the building behind. The next challenge is a CMYK series ;D

You're mini-serie is excellent and I do enjoy it. I don't really know why but I find that green moment unexpected.
You composed it well, with the wall, the upper background, closed to tha frame. Works well.

Hello Bert,
The fresh fruit trees contrast well with the ancient walls in the back!
An attractive layered composition, sharp fine details and a vivid colour palette...
Greetings,
Pablo -
