Photographer's Note
The Ben Youssef Madrassa is located at the northern part of the Jemma el Fna square.
It is named after the amoravid sultan.
Built during the 14th century, fully constructed in 1565 is a good example of 16th century Islamic architecture.
This madrassa was one of the largest theological schools in North Africa and may have housed as many as 900 students.
