ÔÎÒÎÃÐÀÔÈÈ

Today I'll start with my trip to Morocco, and I'll put together some sort of travelogue if I can figure out how. We started in Marrakech.
Walking through the garment district near the souk in Marrakech, I saw this bike resting against the ancient door and snapped a quick picture. It was the middle of a warm, brilliantly sunny afternoon, when everything is closed for siesta. I loved the architecture in Marrakech; lots of arches with mosaics, and huge heavy wooden doors with iron door knockers and latches. The bike reminds me of Marrakech because the traffic there is the most eclectic I've ever seen--bikes, donkey carts, mopeds, cars, tour vans and lots of pedestrians! There are general traffic patterns but apparently no real rules, not many stop signs or traffic lights, and certainly no turning lanes! You kind of take your life in your hands to cross the street, so we just followed close behind Moroccans to avoid getting hit. What an amazing experience that trip was for us all!
