Photographer's Note
Sabratha Theatre - Sabratha was the western most of the "three cities" of Tripolis. It lies on the Mediterranean coast about 65km west of Tripoli. Sabratha's port was established, perhaps about 500 BC, as a Phoenician trading-post that served as a coastal outlet. In the workshop you could see a closer view to the balcony and the famous fish.

Hi Achim,
A very nice one, the radiation of the structure from the big wall looks good and the light is superb, the standing person is the fine detail that fixes the eye in this rather empty part, nice photo.
Have a nice day,

Bonjour Achim
Très belle composition de ce théâtre antique. Ta façon de le prendre nous en fait découvrir toute la grandeur et le photographe présent donne de l'animation à l'image et sert de repère pour l'immensité du lieu.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

Bonjour, mon ami Achim,

Hi Achim,
A very interesting location, very photogenic, i would love to go there myself. It seems Libya has very much to offer when it comes to cultere. The pov is very nice, but don't no if i like the man there in the frame. Maybe you used him for scaling, but i like to see this place in all his simplicity without any people.
Nevertheless a good photo, a beautiful place taken in good natural colours.

Wow, this is a great shot! The building itself is shown incredibly well! The camera is perfectly positioned to show not only the great facade of columns, but also the semi-circle of the seats. What really elevates this to another level is the other photographer, who gives a sense of scale, as well as making it easy for us to imagine us in the scene too. Well done!

Wonderful wide angle overview of this ancient theatre, Achim. The place itself gives a great photographic motive, but that single photographer gave you the additional punch. I guess that a sunrise glow on this walls would also give a quite stunning view (or has to be sunset?).

You chose an excellent POV. (I guess you could walk round the full perimeter of the amphitheatre)This angle give you just the right amount of perspective on the ruins and also included the theatre itself. I also like the closer view in the WS with the wonderful detail still evident in the architecture.

Hi Achim,
This is wide angle i guess, and it is that angle which makes this photo perfect.
All the details are depicted to the minute detail, and the colors are so realistically beautiful. Including the photographer adds to the charm and serves perfectly for the purpose of size comparison. TFS and have a nice weekend.

Interesting view showing both the beautiful theater characterized by the redish building stones and the far perspective on the Mediterranean. I like the contrast between the antique building of the foreground and the sky and sea at the back.

Serwus Achim !
I like the ambiguity of this image.
Only man in the theater, lonely spectator in the burnt theater, no play on stage today, etc.
That's a good scene You captured, under favourable light. Fine exposure and details. Very nice.
Thank You and be well,

Hi Achim - I really like what the wide angle has done to the structure, it shows the curves the way they were meant to be seen, the tourist does give scale, though I'm tempted to clone him out, he's just too tacky with his camcorder.
