Photographer's Note

a girl in a mountain hut, extremely poor village on the mountain trail. In the night it is freezing cold, and in the day there are hundreds of flies outside and inside their rough shelters. Those people hardly can afford fuel for their fire at night, cos this is is national park and it is illegal to cut most of trees. In this village, unlike most of Simen, they are Muslim.

nice dramatic portrait - i love how expressive her eyes are... The pict has a lot of bleck in it, usually I would be a little concerned about that but seems to be working here - at least for me. Good job!

Grate mystical portrait with nice lightning.

Swiatek, nawet muchy moga wygladac jak klejnoty! Wyraz twarzy tej kobiety mowi jednak raczej o smutku, twoja notatka takze. Podoba mi sie to co robisz, widzialem kilka wczesniejszych zdjec i pewnie zobacze wiecej.

i can't decide if i like it or not. let me explain. the quality and of course the (side)light is superb, you've captured a beautiful woman, and a pair of captivating eyes (i won't make the comparison, i'm sure you know it :-)..) but "there's a fly in the ointment" here... i understand (i think) your intent to depict the harsh reality but the contrast between striking beauty (both subject and presentation) and the insects.... i just don't know... sorry i feel less than qualified, to judge, these are just my sentiments, still two points for the (fantastic) technical merits here.

Superb. Her eyes are like flames in the dark. The whole picture is very sensual. Love the contrasts. The flies aorund her face and scarf give an extra sense of unease and immortality/mortality feel to this incredible capture

witaj, wlasnie to zdjecie chcialam upolowac wczoraj, ale czasu mi zabraklo i punktow, ale dzis naprawiam blad, podobaja mi sie cienie na jej twarzy, kiedys zrobiono mi podobne, ale europejka nie wyglada dobrze w takim stroju, to musza byc rysy twarzy, to musza byc te oczy to mysza byc wybrane pieknosci:) super a cienie serio mi sie bardzo podobaja

Incredible photo Swiatek... These eyes...
I can't stop to look at them. There is a fascination here, that leaves me without proper words.
And there is conflicting feelings: an immense Joy and a great Sadness that are filling me in the same time.
This photo without the flies would not be as much powerful, I think.
