Photographer's Note

Photography is my passion for about 4 years now. When I first started to take it more seriously, photography opened up a new world to me. I have entered that world and never looked back and I have no regrets. But all my photographic skills and knowledge was put on a test when I was in Egypt. Why? Because it was mission impossible to take good images of the pyramids from afar, because of all that smog in the air. I had strong sun (it was early morning and sun was rising behind the pyramids) and smog working against me.

La fotografia и la mia passione per circa 4 anni. Quando ho iniziato a prenderla piщ seriamente, fotografia ha aperto un mondo nuovo per me. Ho entrata in quel mondo e d'allora, non mi sono guardata mai indietro. Per essere completamente onesta - non ho nessun rimpianto per questa decisione che ho fatto. Ma tutte le mie capacitа e conoscenza fotografica sono state messo su una prova quando ero in Egitto. Perchй? Perchй era una missione impossibile per scattare buone immagine delle piramidi da lontano, perchй il forte sole (era mattina presto e il sole stava sorgendo dietro le piramidi) e lo smog stavano lavorando contra di me.

una immagine dalla resa monocromatica che suggella un grande scatto.
Ottima la luce che viene da dietro la piramide con il soggetto sul lato della scena.

Hello Stasa,
The smog will undoubrly acceleate the erosoin of Egypt's monuments, but it also allowed you to take this photo with a lot of atmosphere, a welcome change from the usual pyramide photos.

Bello scatto e composizione. Mi piace molto il modo in cui hai lavorato sulla luce evidentemente molto forte che fa risaltare al meglio le silhouettes delle piramidi e del dromedario.

lo smog lavora molto bene in questo caso, ti ha aiutato a creare un'immagine d'atmosfera che allo stesso tempo ci fa riflettere...non solo i faraoni, qui siamo in pericolo anche noi!

Hi Stasa,

Very original shot. Unexpected colours where one would expect sandy browns and nothing else. The man and his camel had to be included, it really puts everything in perspective.
Your challenge of getting a good shot in these circumstances can be called a success.

Interesting image. A bit mysterious, the camel gives a good contrast. Post-a picture of your job a little "too-wearing", the contour edges is small white contrast lines appear. This does not ruin the picture, but also an incredible way, but will improve :-)

you have succeeded very well with this extraordinary photo. I visited the Giza Pyramides quite recently also, and I must agree with you about the difficult prevailing circumstances for decent photography. Besides the smog, too many people.

Hi Stasa,

Impressive view of the pytamids, indeed, a lot of smog now. The smog is of course bad for the monuments but here gives interesting colours and atmosphere. Fine inclusion of the camel and rider.

mi piace molto il punto di osservazione con le due piramidi in prospettiva e il terreno arido in primo piano che aiuta a dare profonditа alla scena.

Una delle piщ belle immagini delle piramidi che io abbia visto, dove sicuramente lo smog, paradossalmente и stato un buon complice per creare atmosfera.

Decisivo anche l'inserimento dell'uomo sul cammello perchи completa la scena animandola, dandole anche dinamicitа.

Ben fatto!

anche se sono solo 4 anni che fotografi, probabilmente con questa passione sei riuscita ad esprimere in modo meraviglioso tutte le tue doti artistiche e compositive. A parte la qualita' della foto, in particolare del processo di riduzione al formato 800X600, penso che la nitidezza (sharp) sia eccessiva, la resa e la bellezza dell'atmosfera e' molto bella, complimenti Stasa.

its a beautiful photo,despite the difficulties you were facing as far as the conditions is concerned!!!
Nevertheless, you manage to use this in order to place a mysterious atmosphere that works properly.

Bonjour Stasa,

Je n'avais encore jamais vu une telle vue des pyramides. L'effet irrйel est renforcй par la brume ou le smog.
La masse de la grande pyramide est contrebalancйe а gauche par le chameau, ce qui йquilibre bien la composition. J'adore particuliиrement les diagonales qui donnent un joli graphisme.
