Photographer's Note

Fishing scene taken at Lobe, a nice place with large waterfalls falling into the sea. To reach Lobe, you need to drive south of Kribi - the major touristic place in Cameroon for its nice beaches - for approximately half an hour.

Shrimps in this area are really famous for they are quite big and really tasty. All day long, you can see fisherman trying to catch them above the Lobe waterfalls.

Cameroon got its name from those shrimps when Portuguese discovered this part of the African Coast in 1472, especially the Wouri river. They named it "Rio dos Cameroes" meaning "river of the shrimps". The name was slightly transformed into "Cameroon".
