Great Spyder 2014-10-31 3:42

AW, 'Ouest France', know that sign a mile away!
Wow Bev, what were you & your children on??? Lovely idea though!
Looks like the owners of 'PL721820' (lovely name for a boat!!) ran out of paint.
Shame the tops of the buildings got cut off, seeing as there is plenty of blue water below that could have been put to better use.
Great photo & love the commentaries too.

Wink To Spyder: Ouest France!

Hi Edward, thank you for your critique.
It's always good to get others views on a photograph.

Please let me explain my reasoning:
I cut off the tops of the houses, the idea being, that you would see the whole as a reflection. Also, by composing it in this way, the reality and the reflections follow the rule of thirds. Had I included the whole of the houses, the separation line would have been right across the centre - not a good place compositionally.

I hope my explanation has made some sense.

Thanks again for your interest,

Smile Help me bob!!!

Oh Bev, I'm but a simple humble FreCanScot (French Canadian Scot)!
Thanks for the explanation, but it's all Greek to meway over my head (not difficult, I'm not tall!)
Not to worry, it hasn't ruined my appreciation of your photo.

Bonne journe
