Hello Cristina
Sorry to be late with my comments: I too have my off-site periods! This is a superb portrait of a theatrical and I guess extrovert old geezer. The expression, of course (a genuine decisive moment), and the lighting, are excellent. Framing is inevitably impeccable. I'm now wondering when I will start on my Shakespearean "Seventh Age" ("second childishness and mere oblivion, Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything"). Hoefully neither he nor I are quite there yet! Your photograph aptly illustrates Jaques' monologue from "As You Like It": "All the World's a stage, And all the men and women merely players".
It's in my favourites...
Kind regards
Will

hi Will,
well, thanks very much for this personal and literary comment to my post - I always appreciate references to other forms of arts when reviewing a photo, because to me photography is often the result of several cultural influences we might or not might be fully aware of but that always play a role in our subconscious, especially when it comes to stylistic choices. your quoting Shakespeare and the famous world as a stage line is in perfect line with my point of view ![]() thanks again for your words and enjoy the Sunday! c. |
